One of the advantages of working with a meditation teacher is, that by simply listening you do not have to think about what you are doing. The teacher's voice is always there to keep you on track and the mind tends not to wander off into mundane matters, such as how long you have been meditating or if you are performing the meditation correctly.
A good meditation teacher also understands the use of intonation and rhythm to help you relax. Also, being familiar with the teacher's voice allows you to trust the process and more easily let go.
Guided meditations can be very helpful when learning to meditate, and for specific issues that arise in your life that need more focus - for example, relationships or emotional healing.
The free guided meditations presented here are by leading meditation teachers, with an established international reputation in their respective field. Each has a unique style and purpose, which we hope you take time to explore.
As a general guideline before meditating, make yourself as comfortable as possible and relax. Close your eyes, take a slow deep breath and as you exhale try to let go of any mental worries you are holding on to. Thereafter, simply allow yourself to be carried by what you see and hear.
