Traditional Instruments : connecting with the earth & sky
Certain instruments and tones. often found in long-surviving native traditions, seem to have a spiritual quality, they resonate with our inner being and can be used as an aid to spiritual practise.
The haunting beauty of Native American flute, the hypnotic beat of drums, the ethereal tones of Tibetan singing bowls, the irresistible rhythm of the didgeridoo; all these, and more, are a means to re-connect with our inner-being and the natural rhythms of the earth.
Chanting & Mantras : the sound of silence
Chanting includes devotional songs from many cultures including: Kirtan, Tibetan Overtone, Buddhism, Gregorian, Sanskrit Mantras and other native traditions.
Some have an ethereal beauty beyond description, some powerfully resonate within our being, others fail to touch us.
Chanting is not a Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, or Hindu practice; it is a practice for anyone. We really don't have to think much about the words, or our musical ability: the purpose of chanting is to get us out of our heads and into the depths of our hearts.
The powerful healing and transformational energies experienced when chanting, or listening to chant, can help us move into a deeper state of presence.
Modern Composers : transcendental experience
There are a growing number of modern composers blessed with the ability to heal through music, who use digital technology to translate their inner experience to audible form.
The transcendental energetic is captured in the vibrational frequencies of their music, and can be experienced by the listener too.
